EDCTP Prizes recognise the achievements of outstanding researchers and research teams. During each EDCTP Forum, four international prizes will be awarded to promote scientific research and Africa-European collaboration.
The 2020 EDCTP Prize winners were announced at the Tenth EDCTP Forum from 17-21 October 2021.Nominations for the below prizes are now closed.
This prize recognises the significant contribution made by Dr Pascoal Mocumbi, the first High Representative of EDCTP. It is awarded to senior scientists, policy-makers or advocates for health and research, from anywhere in the world. The prize consists of a recognition trophy and a cash prize of €50,000.
This prize is awarded to outstanding research teams in sub-Saharan Africa and Europe working on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and neglected infectious diseases (NID) in the scope of the EDCTP2 programme. The prize consists of a recognition trophy and a cash prize of €50,000.
This prize is awarded to world-leading female scientists in sub-Saharan Africa working on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and neglected infectious diseases (NID) in the scope of the EDCTP2 programme. The prize consists of a recognition trophy and a cash prize of €20,000.
This prize is awarded to world-leading scientists in sub-Saharan Africa up to 50 years of age working on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and neglected infectious diseases (NID) in the scope of the EDCTP2 programme. The prize consists of a recognition trophy and a cash prize of €10,000.
