Visa information

The European territory of France is part of the Schengen Area. The Schengen Area is an area comprising 27 European countries that have officially abolished all passport and all other types of border control at their mutual borders. Due to the abolished borders between the Schengen member states, EU nationals only need an identification document to travel throughout the Schengen Area.

Foreign nationals will need to present several statutory documents in order to obtain a Schengen visa. You will be permitted to enter France, and thus the Schengen Area, if the French authorities are convinced that your documents and purpose of entry are in order. Please contact your French Embassy or Consulate in order to check the Schengen visa requirements that apply to you.

Please note that the Schengen visa application can take time, and therefore we recommend you to start this procedure as soon as possible.
